Weekly Topic Tasks
Weekly Topic task sheet
As this week we are learning about caring for the earth, we will be learning a little bit about Andy Goldsworthy. He is a British artist but also an environmentalist meaning he is someone who wants to protect the environment around them! He loves to make art using natural materials and sometimes even takes pictures.
Watch the video today learning all about him and the art activities we have set for you!
This week’s art activities will involve going outside!
You can choose whichever ones you will like to do throughout the week.
Make some land art using materials you can find outside.
For example, leaves; twigs; pebbles; rocks; ice; flower; grass; pine cones.
There is also a ‘Leaf Activity’ PDF for you to refer to.
There are also some ‘Land Art’ challenge cards for you to have a look through and try out!
Andy Goldsworthy’s art makes us think about the world around us and how nature is art.
So why don’t you become a photographer today? Go on a walk and take pictures of things OR just draw different parts of nature that you think is an amazing piece of art.
This week in some of our lessons you will be using Purple Mash to complete some tasks! We will also be focusing on ‘Safer Internet Day’ on Tuesday.
For Thursday’s English task, we will be asking you to create a poster. Some of you may like to draw, paint or some of you may like to create this on the computer. We have set a 2do using the program ‘2 Paint a Picture’, where you can create and design your poster should you wish to.
You might also like to use this program as an additional task at some point during the week to create a picture about ‘Caring for Earth’, ‘recycling and reusing’ or maybe even about religions and how they care for the Earth. This program is there for you to explore!
Mrs Coombes, our music teacher has provided us with another great lesson for the children to complete this week. Enjoy!
