This month's value is PRIDE

Our well-being theme this half-term is Connecting with Nature

24th March 2023

Dear parents & carers,

Thank you for participating in Parent teacher conferences this week. It is great to give you all feedback at this point in the year and for you to discuss your child. Thank you.

Red Nose Day - thank you for taking part and contributing!

STREP A - we have had a few cases amongst our younger children. Please be vigilant.  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/strep-a/

HOMEWORK - we will set homework on Friday 31st March, it does not have to be completed until after the Easter holidays. It will be due on Friday 21st April - a full week after children come back to school.  However, we would like to encourage reading over the holidays; it would be great to see nine reading sessions taking place over the three weeks.

The clocks will change this weekend - forward one hour on Saturday night into Sunday.

A reminder before you buy any summer uniform to check our Uniform Policy.  https://www.bushmeadprimaryschool.co.uk/page/?title=Uniform&pid=138 Thank you.

Ramadan Mubarak to all who are taking part in our community.

Kind regards,

Joanne Travi

Headteacher

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the holiest month in the Muslim calendar. Muslims fast from dawn and to sunset.

Why Ramadan is important to Muslims.

During Ramadan, Muslims sacrifice their food and drink to remind them of the less fortunate and to reinforce the value of being grateful. There is also Eid to look forward to.

Who Fasts?

Many Muslim parents introduce fasting to their children gradually, starting with half fasts or occasional fasts, so children build up their endurance. It is important for parents to monitor their children's health during the fast and ensure that they do not over-exert themselves or become dehydrated. It isn't mandatory for elders, children or sick people.

When is Ramadan?

NOW! Ramadan began on the 22nd March.
