Dear parents & carers,
We have had a lovely few weeks at Bushmead with visits from Teaching Talons and the Farm. Some of our children walked to Bradgers Hill, and we have had a number of sporting events. It is wonderful to have our children playing on the field.
Next Friday (17th) Outdoor Learning Day. Children should come to school prepared to be outside, whatever the weather. We would be grateful for contributions of bedding plants. Bushmead in Bloom is a highlight of the year! Thank you in advance.
Year 6 SATS take place next week. These tests are the culmination of seven years of hard work at primary school! Our pupils and teachers have worked extremely hard to prepare. And the tests are challenging - most adults would find them tricky! Whatever the outcome, we are super proud of our Yr 6 pupils' efforts. Please make sure they are here every day and that they are well rested! This helps their wellbeing. Thank you.
We have been teaching our children the value of TALKING through our oracy lessons. Below is an example of how to structure talking at home. Please give it a go!
Whooping Cough has been in the news. If you have any concerns, please contact your doctor for advice. Further information is here: NHS Whooping Cough
We have had a number of online incidents that should be avoidable. Whatsapp, Snapchat and TikTok are not suitable for primary aged children. There are age limits for a reason. To help keep children safe, please:
- Check your child's phone and devices.
- Don't let them have it in their bedroom overnight.
- Make sure they know they can talk to you about what they might see.
- Talk to the adults of households your children visit.
