Dear parents & carers,
This week we have begun our English Learning Review. The leadership team work with each year group, watch lessons, look at planning and books and discuss children's progress and what is being taught. Over the course of the term we have an in-depth picture of what is happening within the subject and what our next steps will be.
This is a huge piece of work, but it is so important and rewarding. As ever, we see high quality teaching in the classroom and the progression of learning across the school. What has impressed me particularly this week is the focus children have in their lessons. A testament to their hard work and careful, engaging planning by their teachers!
Industrial Action for members of the NEU will take place on Wednesday 1st February. Yrs R, 1, 2, 5 & 6 will be open to children. Yrs 3 & 4 will be closed.
If your child is in Yr 3 & 4 and entitled to free school meal, a packed lunch will be available for collection. Please let the office know by 11am on Tuesday 31st January if you would like to take up this offer. If your child, in Year 3 & 4, has an EHC Plan a member of our Inclusion Team will contact you regarding arrangements.
Our non-NEU team are all deployed to cover classes, so we have no further capacity to take other children. Just because year groups are open, doesn't mean children will have their regular teacher.
If the strike continues to further days we will attempt to rotate the Year Groups.
This is a very difficult situation and there is no, one way, to get this right for everyone. This is our best solution. I will keep you informed if circumstances change.
Individual photos will be taken on Monday - please make sure children are wearing the correct uniform.
On that note, a number of branded sports wear items and colourful trainers are creeping into the PE uniform, as are colourful hair adornments. In the interest of fairness please keep to the school uniform policy. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Joanne Travi
