The school follows the National Curriculum guidelines but within this we set our own aims. The aims we have set for Bushmead Primary School are:- to develop an enjoyment of learning, to help pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds, to achieve an ability to question and argue rationally and to evaluate and make judgements and decisions, to develop a sense of caring and concern for the welfare of others and the environment, to help pupils acquire knowledge and skills relevant to adult life, with due emphasis on literacy and numeracy, to develop physical skills and a sound approach to health and fitness, to promote in pupils a respect for moral values, and an appreciation of their own and different beliefs and cultures.
Working in a thriving primary school, these posts are to provide general classroom assistance, support children with their learning and assist with lunch and play time activities. The post holders will gain valuable experience working with children and as part of a Year group team supporting the teachers in a variety of activities throughout the school Bushmead Primary School caters for children aged 4 to 11 years old. As a Teaching Assistant in our school, your duties will include: Following agreed lesson plans to support the teaching and learning of individual or groups of pupils, Contributing to the development of pupils, Contributing to the planning of teaching and learning for the class and/or for individual pupils, Working closely with Class Teachers, Attending meetings and providing feedback.
Skills required: Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, Ability to work on own initiative, Ability to communicate effectively with children, Able to contribute to the support and development of children, Ability to keep accurate records, Basic ICT skills, Knowledge of equality issues, Good timekeeper. Personal qualities; Professional appearance and manner Enthusiasm and confidence when working with children, Quick and enthusiastic learner Self-motivated, Prepared to learn new skills, Able to contribute constructively to and work effectively as a team member, Reliable, Honest.
As this is a term-time only role, it is expected that the post holder will take annual leave during the school holidays. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Because of the nature of this post, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. The role may involve lifting of children and equipment. There may also be the requirement to clear up after a pupil has been ill or had a spillage/toileting accident.
We are looking for a cleaner to join our site team. This is a 50 week per year position, working two hour per week day 4 - 6pm (times can be slightly flexible, i.e. 3.30 - 5.30)
